Dr Mohammed Khan — Consultant CAMHS
Dr Mohammed Khan is a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services . He is registered with the General Medical Council and has extensive experience in both NHS and private mental health services. Dr Khan has worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and forensic CAMHS units, and has trained in administering the Autism Diagnostic Observational Schedule (ADOS 2) and the Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI-R). He is also trained in Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and has experience in liaison psychiatry and managing mental health conditions in older adults.
Dr Khan’s career began in the Indian Army, where he served as a Medical Officer and managed psychiatric conditions in extreme high-altitude zones. He later worked as a Resident Physician in Internal Medicine at Singapore General Hospital before moving to the UK to pursue psychiatry. He completed core training in psychiatry and achieved Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatry (MRCPsych) in 2020. He then undertook specialist training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, completing his training in 2023.
Dr Khan is passionate about providing evidence-based mental health care and has received training in a range of therapeutic modalities, including Motivational Interviewing and mhGAP. He is also qualified to present evidence to the legal system as an expert witness and has completed training in ASIST suicide prevention. Dr Khan is committed to teaching and training medical staff and has experience in delivering this in various settings.
