Dr Nicola Curtis — Consultant Psychiatrist
Dr Nicola Curtis is a Consultant Psychiatrist, She is registered with the General Medical Council and has been a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists since 2008. Dr Curtis has over 13 years of experience as a substantive consultant in Tier 3 community CAMHS, where she served as clinical lead for ADHD and provided expert clinical input for children and adolescents.
Her training pathway began with a degree in Politics and International Relations, followed by a Distinction in an Access to Medicine Course and a medical degree at Manchester University. She completed her higher training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry through the Eastern Deanery, with placements in Tier 3 and Tier 4 services, including adolescent inpatient care, eating disorders, learning disability, and drug services. Her early career included roles in adult psychiatry, old age psychiatry, liaison psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry.
Dr Curtis is an Approved Clinician and Section 12 Approved, with a strong focus on therapeutic relationships and independent practice. She is an accredited Cognitive Analytic Therapist and has completed training in Mindful and Therapeutic Photography. She is currently undertaking the British Lifestyle Medicine Core Accreditation and has a keen interest in public mental health and staff wellbeing.
She is an experienced Clinical and Educational Supervisor, consultant appraiser, mentor, and examiner for the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Dr Curtis also provides psychiatric assessments, therapy, coaching, and training in both NHS and private settings, working with children, adolescents, and staff in health and corporate environments.
