Alix Willmore — Consultant Speech and Language Therapist
Alix Willmore is a Consultant Speech and Language Therapist with a strong focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in early years and preschool settings. Currently working in a split clinical and academic role, Alix is completing a PhD at Anglia Ruskin University, researching barriers and facilitators to staff-mediated communication interventions for children with ASD. Her clinical work includes training parents and professionals, conducting research projects, and participating in multidisciplinary assessments for ASD.
Alix has extensive experience in speech and language therapy, having worked in a variety of settings including community, school, and special needs environments. She has conducted ADOS assessments, administered CARS for measuring treatment effectiveness, and contributed to research projects such as the Servier phase 3 clinical trial and the FAMILY microbiome study. Her training includes PACT, ADIR, ADOS-2, and PECS, which she has applied in clinical practice and research.
Alix is committed to evidence-based practice and has contributed to published research on diagnostic tools for ASD. She is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
