Daniel Ionescu - Systemic and Family Psychotherapist
Daniel Ionescu is a UKCP-registered Systemic and Family Psychotherapist with extensive experience in psychotherapy and mental health, working across the NHS and the private sector. He provides therapy for individuals, couples, and families, helping them strengthen relationships, improve communication, and enhance emotional well-being. Daniel integrates systemic, narrative, and trauma-informed approaches, attending to the cultural and relational contexts that shape people’s lives. His particular areas of interest are trauma, neurodiversity, adolescent mental health, couple therapy, and intergenerational family patterns.
Currently, he holds positions within the NHS at Medway Young Person’s Wellbeing Service, where he serves in senior roles such as Senior Clinician, Clinic Coordinator, and Family Therapist. Daniel runs Family Therapy Clinics involving reflecting teams and provides supervision for clinicians developing systemic practice. He also works in the private sector, offering systemic psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families both in person and online.
Daniel is skilled in the assessment and treatment of relational and emotional difficulties, with expertise in trauma, attachment, neurodevelopmental conditions, and complex family dynamics. He is dedicated to promoting relational health and psychological well-being, helping families and couples recognise and shift unhelpful interactional patterns. Daniel believes that meaningful change emerges through relationships — when people feel seen, heard, and understood.
